This Lonicera purpusii ‘Winter Beauty’ (also known as the winter flowering Honeysuckle) was a gift from my dear Dad, many moons ago. In summer, this lovely shrub is just a green bush, but each winter when most else is resting, it awakens, flowers, and produces the sweetest fragrance.
A short video of bees feeding on my Winter Beauty, on a cold, windy February 24th.
Our insects need all the help they can get, especially during the winter months. My Winter Beauty sits outside what is now my new Studio, hence I’ve not been getting much work done as I watch the bees buzzing from one flower to another. 🐝:) 🐝
A lovely gift, holding precious memories; and a godsend for all insects on a dull and wintry day.
