Successful flying practice for each of my bats tonight. Every night I am outside with my rescues in order to help them fly free.
First into the flight was Bryony, Pip, then Iggy, Barbastelle, and finally Koumori, my Brown Long-eared. Each is healthy, eating well, and just needing to build up strength and gain weight. I fly them in turn; according to the time of night that they would normally emerge.
This is Koumori with his coat all fluffed up saying ‘you cannot be serious… it’s much too cold for flying tonight.’ As it is, seconds later he took off and flew for ages and beautifully.
