Blackbird Nest and Stoat

Apr 1, 2020 | Diary, Family, Larmer Tree Studio, Wildlife

Unfortunately, the nest is low down on a wall and in a vulnerable position.  I waited out of sight until the female had gone, then snook in and took this quick shot. Lovely to see her clutch of eggs, just fingers crossed they survive.

The off to my to put my Studio to rights after the water damage over previous months.  I stopped for lunch, glanced out the window and just happened to see a stoat bounding along the fence line in front of the lodge. For a couple of seconds he stopped and sat upright, looked almost like a squirrel, and then carried on his way. So sleek, nimble, and a beautiful sighting.
