Tip of the Month
Containers in any shape or form are death traps. Any animal or bird looking for a drink can easily become trapped in a water-filled container as there is no way of escape for them. Bats and birds will also sadly die if they fall into an open vessel such as an empty watering can, rain barrel, empty flower pot, or bucket that is upright, uncovered and sat in a garden, on a balcony or in a greenhouse. Even in winter, animals and birds in search of a frost-free place to shelter can become trapped.
Please, make sure to remove all open vessels, or turn them upside down, and if they contain water – please cover them completely.
