On Monday, on the way home from releasing our little pip, saw a handsome tawny owl fly across the track in front of us, then a badger snuffling in the grass close to home, plus a couple of fallow deer grazing together. A lovely journey.
Later, as I locked our gate I heard a stag grunting loudly and then the clatter and rattle of antlers as two stags clashed. Wow!! Have heard the deep cough/grunts before at this time of year but have never heard or seen two stags fighting. Awesome sound.
