Saw our first two Brimstone butterflies of the year fluttering around the garden yesterday, and early this afternoon, a large bat was flying high above the treetops.
We also heard a tawny owl calling from the woodland bordering our garden, plus we have a walking wounded moorhen that has been with us for a week now. Not sure if it’s a he or she, but the poor thing has a distinct limp and is enjoying the seclusion of our garden and pond. Hopefully, little moorhen will soon be on the mend.
