Received a cat-attacked bat with neck and shoulder wound plus a fractured finger. After fluids and pain relief he rallied but late afternoon started to deteriorate. Cats catch wildlife and cat saliva is deadly and kills. I believe this is what was slowly killing my rescued bat. Whatever the species, antibiotics should be administered immediately after a cat attack, but sadly 24+hrs had already passed; he was suffering and I sadly had to pts. Please Keep Cats Indoors!
