No drawing for me until late afternoon; instead spent most of today talking about boys’ private parts. Can’t believe it! My August baby bat had been progressing well and then discovered what appeared to be a problem down below. I spent hours researching as I wondered if it was paraphimosis, which would be really painful for the little chap, and I also took him to the vet.
The vet also thought there was a problem and promptly anaesthetised him. Conclusion… that he’d never seen the like; but thought there was nothing wrong – he was just a big boy!! I know that male bats are normally well endowed but this just didn’t look normal. As it worked out, the vet was right and my little bat was fine. He continued putting on weight and eating well – which was a good sign.
