Yay…my bat flight extension in the sunshine, and thank you Brian. x We worked like the clappers together and our bats were finally able to fly in the fresh air. It certainly made a difference to their behaviour: even those that are struggling to be airborne. It’s definitely put a spring in their step. Unbeknownst to me a small moth had also ventured in, and on his first flight, my BLE suddenly zig-zagged mid-flight… I think he may have had an opportunistic snack.
The new flight looks a bit Heath Robinson, but it is secure, with no sharp edges, and no little gaps for would-be escapees. It is a delight to see my bats utilising the extra area for the first time.
