My first dog, a terrier cross called Cindy, was the proud mum of these cute little pups. Playful and energetic they kept me very busy for a couple of months. In between the play sessions, I took the opportunity to photograph them. I never imagined that twenty years later I would draw these pups and produce a ‘Basket of Puppies’ Fine Art Print and Greetings Card from my pastel portrait.

Cindy becoming pregnant was not planned and thankfully all the pups went to good homes. During this time, I also learned about the good work of animal welfare organisations and charities such as the PDSA and Blue Cross and realised how many unwanted pups there are in the world.
