Original Painting Medium: Pen and Ink

There are 5 portraits contained in my ‘Greater Horseshoe Bat’ notelets/greeting card pack. The cards are as displayed. Each Pack contains one card of each design, plus 5 envelopes, and is sent with ‘Love from the Artist’.

My pen and ink drawing of this rare bat was an artwork produced whilst at college in the 1990s. Our tutor was introducing us to pen and ink as a medium and it was my first experience producing artwork using dots and cross-hatching techniques.

I am involved in ‘bat counts’ organised by the Bat Conservation Trust. Surveys by volunteers throughout the U.K help to ascertain and monitor the numbers of certain bat species in specific areas and habitats. I have also been working as a Registered Bat Carer since 2004/5 and look after orphaned and injured bats, returning them to the wild when they have recovered and are fully rehabilitated.  A donation is given to bat conservation with each card and fine art print sold.
