Susan Shimeld ~ Wildlife Artist & Natural History Illustrator.
Susan's artwork very much reflects her love of nature; her natural history paintings, drawings and pet portraits are highly-detailed and portrayed using a variety of media including: pencil, oil, pastel and gouache.
Susan has been working as a self-taught professional Wildlife Artist since 1989 and has also been a keen naturalist and conservationist for many years. Whilst combining her love of 'Wildlife and Art', Susan also supports Wildlife Conservation Societies through her artwork.
Susan has exhibited her artwork at a number of galleries including: the London Zoological Society; whilst working with the Orangutan Foundation, and the Society of Wildlife Artists Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. Susan's paintings, drawings, artwork and fine art prints can also be found in private collections throughout the U.K, and in many countries around the world.
Susan's wish to illustrate a natural history publication was realised when she was invited to provide drawings for two books concerning Wolf Conservation. She has also written for, and had artwork published in a number of well-known magazines.
Working from her lovely Larmer Tree Studio situated in the beautiful Larmer Tree Gardens, Tollard Royal, Wiltshire; Susan produces her own Fine Art Prints and Greetings Cards from her original paintings and drawings. Her list of artworks include: fauna & flora, mammals, birds, pet portraits, landscapes and botanical subjects.
With her love of wildlife and art and working with wildlife conservation groups - Su has realised a lifelong dream. Su's fine art prints, cards, coasters plus assorted fine art design gifts are all available from her Larmer Tree Studio and on-line Gallery shop.
