Scarlet Elf Cup

Feb 12, 2017 | Diary, Family, Larmer Tree Studio, Wildlife

Beautiful fungi… the Scarlet Elf Cup brightens a woodland walk on the dullest of winter days.  Sadly these have been scraped and cleared away….gone forever, along with a badger sett and other wildlife; purely for 3 days human entertainment each year. This beautiful bluebell woodland has been destroyed so that thousands of folk can visit, day and night: a brightly lit ferris wheel, (next to the damaged and now empty badger sett), a few marquees; and also have dance at a disco, and see a wooden ship with a tree supposedly growing out of it. So much lost … for a 3 day ‘supposedly’ natural woodland festival.
