Each year, the wilder we allow our garden to be, the luckier we seem to be. This year we’ve had 2 pairs of blackbirds, 2 pairs of robins, plus a dunnock, pied wagtail, and a greenfinch family nesting in our garden. Inside the top watering can I found these little guys.
Whilst on my phone filming the housemartins as they were flying past my Study window to their nest, this little Greenfinch suddenly appeared and tried desperately to land on the glass. It was obviously his maiden flight and there was nothing I could to help the poor little bird apart from sitting still – so as not to panic him further. Thankfully, once he’d recovered from the shock of his first flying experience and settled, he flew well. 🙂 Safe journey, to all newly-fledged ‘little ones’ everywhere.
