2005

7th October

Have applied to be a part of Dorset Art Week 2006. Until now my home has always been on the wrong side of the border. Larmer Tree Studio is literally on the border and am delighted to say that I can now join in....... The event will run from 27th May - 11th June and Larmer Tree Studio will be open during this period.

26th September

The problems within the European paper industry earlier this year caused paper prices to rise yet again. This time the prices have increased dramatically and sadly I have had to increase the prices of my Greetings Cards also
.

25th September

Our last Housemartins youngsters fledged today. The majority of our Housemartins departed at the beginning of September.

30th August

and now we have three - Sweet Pea, a Light Sussex.

18th August

We have kept a couple of chickens for a few years now and they have always been free to wander in and out of their barn and around our garden.  The girls have always been more like pets and it was very obvious that Daisy was missing her companion Charlie. Since Charlie passed away, Daisy has spent most of her time wandering around the outside of our house and latching on to us as soon as either of us stepped outside. When I had to leave for work, I felt awful as she would stand at the gate and talk to me as I cycled away.

Over the past 10 days I have been on a mission trying to find a suitable chicken buddy.   'Mission Accomplished', last night I came home with a friendly little Partridge Wyandotte,  named Dottie! :-) Am looking forward to portraying Dottie when she is fully grown - at present she looks a bit of a scruffpot. Daisy seems pleased to have some company again and in typical chicken fashion has made it quite clear who is in charge around here.

8th August

In order to take advantage of the good weather for wildlife watching, sketching and photography I have decided to be more flexible with my opening times at Larmer Tree Studio. As opening times may vary please telephone 01725 516271 or 07963 514614 to confirm.

Charlie, one of our two remaining chickens passed away.

21st July

Am painting again!!!!! After all this time spent sorting websites, printing, organising my new studio, gallery etc. It is a good feeling and great to be painting in my Larmer Tree Studio Flat once again.

12th - 31st July

Larmer Tree Gardens will be closed. Please call me if you wish to visit the studio and gallery.

June 12th

Thanks Andrew, Lorraine, Mike and everyone that has popped in to say Hello at Larmer Tree. I will try to organise cream teas for next time Mike. :-)

June 11th

Our Housemartins and Swallows are definitely fewer in number this year. Pairs of Housemartins are normally raising young in 99% of the nests along the front of our house but this year only 50% of the nests are being used. In previous years we have also recorded 4+ pairs of Swallows nesting in the barns, so far this year we have only 3 pairs. A pair of Pied Wagtails have regularly nested with us in previous years but this year have not visited. Last year we recorded 4 pairs of Spotted Flycatchers but this year we have only 2 pairs nesting.

June 10th

First Dragonfly of the year spotted visiting our pond - Common Darter plus 4 Azure Damselflies. So far have not found any dragonflies emerging.

June 8th

First Bat Colony count of the year. The weather was good and it was a pleasant p.m with 27 Brown Long-eared counted. The highest count to date was in 2001 when 34 were recorded at the same address.

June 7th

May 2nd

First day at Larmer Tree Studio.
Sunny weather and it was a great day. Many thanks to all who called in, especially Mandy, Marco, Dylan, Joe and David.

April

Have moved into my new Larmer Tree Studio at Larmer Tree Gardens, Tollard Royal and cannot wait to start working. If you would like to visit, please feel free to call in. At present, as I am unsure as to which days I will be there please phone for details.

March 22nd

Have installed another Guestbook and transferred all the messages from the old version into the new. Only problem now is that they all have the same date. Hmm! Please feel free to sign in and say hello.

March 19th

My Guestbook is not functioning again. The company that provide the service have apparently exceeded their bandwidth and have been temporarily removed. I will hopefully be installing a new version soon. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

March 12th

The new Studio needed quite a bit of work, cleaning, painting walls etc but am now in and looking forward to painting with a No. 7 Fine Art Brush instead of a 7" wide brush and roller. Thank you Brian for all your help and support.

Within the first few days of cleaning and decorating at Larmer Tree the macaws called in to say Hello. It was lovely to be with them again. To celebrate my moving home we shared an apple.

February 12th

Reduced P+P charges for Artwork purchased from my on-line Gallery Shop - United Kingdom and Worldwide.

1-10 Greetings Cards or Fine Art Prints posted in the U.K only £2.00 per Order.

February 10th

Larmer Tree is now my new Studio!

February 1st

Brilliant news. In late December I made enquiries regarding a rented property. I have recently been told that my application has been accepted!!!!! I am hoping that the premises will serve as a Studio as I need some space for my artwork. Maybe in the not too distant future my new home will also be my first little Gallery. Watch this space...........

The website is now up together and appears to be functioning as it should - famous last words.......

With all the website jobbies finally out of the way, I have been able to concentrate on other 'well overdue' chores such as paperwork, filing and general Spring-Cleaning, hmm! Have also been designing and printing a new selection of Fine Art Prints and Greetings Cards. The 'Giraffe Portrait' Greetings Card and Fine Art Print are my newest additions and are quite different to the original 'Giraffe Portrait' painting.

January

Happy New Year!!!!!
Snowdonia was brilliant plus it snowed on Christmas Day. It was great to have a white Christmas and in such stunning surroundings.
